With the college admissions process becoming increasingly competitive, it is more important than ever to begin your planning early in your high school career. The earlier you start the process, the more time you have to plan a course of studies that will best prepare you for college. The counselors are available to help navigate students through the college planning process. Counselors assist students with developing career goals, in creating an appropriate list of colleges, and explain all facets of the college application process. All juniors will meet with their counselor in the spring to discuss the college process; parents are welcome and encouraged to attend these meetings with their children. Naviance, a web-based planning and advising system, is an extremely helpful tool that will assist students towards college and career readiness. A thorough college search engine is an integral part of Naviance. Colleges can be easily compared, and detailed information on programs, majors, demographics and other specifics are readily available. A college admission scatter graph will allow you to understand where you stand compared to other students when reviewing specific colleges. Parents and students will have an opportunity to navigate through important data related to the college exploration process. Parents and students will be assigned a registration code. The guidance team will assist you every step of the way on this exciting and rewarding educational journey.
