“My mom, sister and I were discussing how much work the frontline workers are doing – that they have been risking their lives to keep us safe – and we wanted to thank them,” said Rohan Manjrekar, a sophomore at Hicksville High School (HHS). So, in early April, he and his sister Rhea, a 2017 HHS graduate, and their friends decided to do something to express their thanks and gratitude to the workers they described as our “Health Heroes.”

HHS Conducts Virtual Career Day Inc. Program

Hicksville High School had planned to host a traditional career day in conjunction with the organization Career Day Inc. on April 3. Once schools were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hicksville High School Principal, Ray Williams, and Career Day Inc. Hicksville School Officials Unveil New Auditorium

Hicksville School District ushered in a new era in its performing arts program with the unveiling of a new, state-of-the-art auditorium at Hicksville High School. Hicksville Board of Education and administration members were on hand to cut the ribbon on the newly renovated facility moments before students took the stage for the Winter II Concert, the first since reopening the space.

Students’ Sewing Skills Put Smiles on Faces

Students in Mary Zito-Farello and Mr. Victor Lam’s Art of Positive Living class at Hicksville High School have been using their skills to help put smiles on the faces of children, forever changing their lives. The class is sewing Smile Dolls for Operation Smile, an international charity that funds surgeries for children born with cleft conditions.
